John Huw
British-born , raised and educated, Huw Turner moved with his family to New Zealand in 1997. A teacher of English most of his professional life, with an MA in English and European Renaissance Drama from the University of Warwick, he has been Head of English Departments in both New Zealand and Sierre Leone.
The move to New Zealand gave him the opportunity to write , and he has had articles printed in a range of Briish and New Zealand newspapers and journals. From 1999-2001 he was the New Zealand Editor for the rugby website www.scrum.com and still contributes features.
In 2005, Huw helped establish Bogwood Productions, which has since become a leading theatre company in Northland, New Zealand. He is passionate about the theatre and travelling, most recently having spent time in India with his elder daughter who is doing a PhD in Indian literature and publishing.
